You're having the time of your life, not a care in the world, when suddenly disaster strikes.
In the moment, you have no idea what this could mean for you. Could this be the end of your adventure?
You sink into a depression...
Tears become a regular visitor to your eyes and cheeks.
You are desperate to feel safe and secure again
You feel broken...you broke yourself.
You were your own worst enemy all along
All that time, smooth sailing, destroyed in a moment's notice.
Days away from the safety of home, you feel dark thoughts creep into your mind.
You contemplate hurting yourself and ironically, ending the pain.
Not the physical pain, its the emotional pain that debilitates you
Judgemental eyes pass look on causing you to crawl deeper into the dark hole that you, yourself, have created.
Desperate and alone, you throw a lifeline to the only person that you know can save you from yourself.
Fortunately for you, they catch that line and save you from falling deeper into that hole.
As they slowly rebuild the foundation of your spirit, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
You know you will make it through this.
It will just take time and a lot of self-reflection
You begin to realize that you will return to the adventure, humbled.
Knowing you must constantly keep soul-searching and keeping yourself in check.
You are responsible for yourself and the consequences of your actions.
You can be your worst enemy or your strongest supporter
